Omnibus edition (or simply omnibus) refers to a regular television broadcast in which several previously screened episodes of a soap opera are compiled into a single edition and shown back-to-back, allowing viewers who have missed a number of episodes to catch up with the storyline of the soap.

Usually, an omnibus is broadcast at the weekend, and consists of episodes that were transmitted during that week. For a soap opera with three weekly episodes, a typical transmission schedule might be:

  • Monday - Episode 1
  • Wednesday - Episode 2
  • Friday - Episode 3
  • Sunday - Omnibus Edition (Episodes 1, 2, and 3 shown sequentially)
