Universal Lives (also known as an Our Screams Can Last spinoff) is an American television soap opera that currently airs on the BGC Network since March 18, 2013. Created by Marc Harvard, it replaced the canceled 72-year-old soap opera Passionate Dreams.

BGC renewed Universal Lives for a second season in September 2013 and March 2014, and then renewed it again in March 2015 for a third season. The series was renewed again for a fourth season on October 21, 2015.

Origins, plot development, and cast

Universal Lives has had a number of plot sequences since the series' debut. These plot sequences include complex storylines, and different writers and casting.


On March 18, 2013, Universal Lives premiered on BGC. Seven former Passionate Dreams castmates, Annika Bartoski, Ursula Summer (Ariel's mother, Aladdin's mother-in-law, Melody's grandmother), Ariel Summer-Adams (Aladdin's wife, Ursula's daughter, Melody's mother), Aladdin Adams (Ariel's husband, Ursula's son-in-law, Melody's father), Melody Adams (Aladdin's and Ariel's daughter, Ursula's granddaughter) Derek Carter, and Odette Carter (Derek's wife) made their debuts, reprising their Passionate Dreams roles.

On June 17, 2013, Mary Sumner debuted her new role as Tanya Hartwick, and Verita Mooney debuted her new role as Stephanie Lewison.
